Anti-inflammation diet

The human body responds to allergens and other harmful or foreign elements introduced to it through inflammation. This is the defense mechanism to protect and preserve the human body. Most are familiar with different diseases that are a result of chronic inflammation such as heart ailments, diabetes, hypertensive stroke, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, and rheumatoid arthritis. In the mentioned diseases, the body responds to infection in a localized area by inflammation of said part. Inflammation symptoms include redness, pain and swelling of the area affected. Another result of inflammation is temporary loss of function of the affected organ such as the in case of people suffering from rheumatoid arthritis. Chronic inflammation may lead to increased risk factors of certain diseases such as heart ailment, chronic hypertensive stoke, cancer (such as that of the colon, liver, esophagus, and breast), and that of auto-immune diseases like multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, and lupus. Treatments of inflammation include steroids or non-steroidal drugs. However, there are certain types of foods that are considered anti-inflammatory that can be included in the normal diet to prevent inflammation-related health issues.

The proper diet for a person who is sensitive to sun poisoning must follow the right diet which includes right amount of proteins, carbohydrates, dietary fibers, fats, vitamins, minerals and essential amino acids. All of these can be obtained in fresh vegetables, oils, grains, fruits, fish and meat products, nuts and seeds. Monosaturated fats must be included always like coconut oils, extra-virgin olive oil, flaxseed oil, and fish oils that contain omega-3. As regards with vegetables, always ensure that they are fresh harvests like broccoli, bell pepper, cabbage, and fennel bulb, green beans, spinach, kale, sweet potatoes, leeks and Brussels sprouts. Include fruits like lemons, papayas, apples, avocados, oranges, grapes, strawberries and blueberries in your diet as these fruits have high anti-inflammatory properties, packed with vitamins A, C, E, rich with anti-oxidants which are known to support good health.

Aside from fruits and vegetables, one must include essential herbs and spices in his diet like basil, clove, mint, thyme, rosemary, cinnamon, and turmeric. Grains and nuts are also known for their anti-inflammatory property. Almonds, hazelnuts, walnuts, flax and sunflower seeds are among the nuts which are rich sources for anti-inflammatory. As regards grains, oats and buckwheat, and whole grains are good sources for anti-inflammatory treatment. Sea products like tuna, salmon, cod, sardines, oyster, rainbow trout, and stripped bass are also rich sources to prevent inflammation. Drinking at least 8 glasses of water everyday also reduces inflammation. Do not forget to include fresh fruits and vegetables, juices, herbal teas and low-fat milk in your diet.

By practicing the right diet with anti-inflammatory benefits, one can improve his well-being and overall health. The benefits of including anti-inflammatory foods in your diet include improved digestion, lowered cholesterol level, minimized arthritis pain, lowered triglyceride level, and may also provide relief from the symptoms disorders such as that of depression and bipolar disorder.

It must be noted also that proper diet is not enough. One must include enough rest, regulate body weight with respect to age and height ratio, regular and prescribed physical exercise as well as reduction of mental anxiety and stress in order to control or avoid the symptoms and effects of inflammation as well as other health issues.
